New investments
In 1974, the construction began of a plant which later became our ACA plant. ACA stands for acrolein cyanohdryinacetate, an intermediate product for pesticides. It started with the triazine plant for the production of agrochemicals, which was integrated then into a multifunctional plant. After several investments in intermediate products, Evonik could expand the ACA plant in 1988.
In 1976 began producing the organosilane Si 69®, an increasingly demanded raw material that set the scene for a quantum leap in the technology of the car tires industry. It helped reduce rolling resistance and provided better road surface adhesion.
