EEVA | Confined spaces

The procedure for entering confined spaces (CS) must always be complied with.

Frequently, "confined spaces" must be entered by/for production and engineering to perform inspections, checks, repairs, etc. Here, it may be necessary to take special measures to ensure safety during entry.

A "confined space" is called a "space with an enclosed character" in Belgian legislation. This means limited or difficult access and limited natural ventilation.

As soon as there is or may be a dangerous atmosphere in a CS, or if the person entering cannot leave the CS by his own means, special measures must be taken with regard to supervision and rescue. These special measures and means of rescue must be determined beforehand by means of a risk analysis.

All measures must be taken and checked before entry. For this purpose, for example, measurement strategies are defined and implemented.
